Amazon Hiring Support Engineer in Hyderabad - Payment Systems, Technical Support, Automation

The Payment Orchestration and Planning (POP) team at Amazon is responsible for ingesting 300 million vendor payables per year worth $400 billion from 80+ clients across five different business lines. This is a critical finance technology team ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors globally.

As a Support Engineer in the POP team, you will play a vital role in improving payment accuracy, reducing friction in payment processes, creating self-service tools, and building dashboards for leadership to monitor the health of the payments pipeline. You will help maintain highly reliable software systems that process time-sensitive invoices, including some requiring payment within two hours of ingestion.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain operational excellence by resolving auto cut and customer cut tickets

- Monitor and maintain pipeline health metrics dashboard

- Increase software resilience and system reliability

- Develop automations to avoid inquiry tickets and reduce ticket inflow

- Deliver root cause fixes to eliminate rinse-and-repeat work

- Create self-service tools to empower customers and reduce support burden

- Upgrade software on deprecation paths and maintain healthy deployment pipelines

What You'll Do Daily

1. Review team metrics and identify outliers. Maintain the metrics dashboard

2. Resolve customer tickets and fix root causes to prevent recurrence

3. Create self-service tools to reduce ticket inflow, especially inquiry tickets

4. Upgrade software on deprecation paths and maintain software deployment pipeline health

Requirements*

- 2+ years of software development experience, or 2+ years of technical support experience

- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

- Proficiency in Unix

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS or equivalent)

- System, network, and operating system knowledge

- Experience in financial technology or payment systems is a plus
