Zoetis is Hiring DevOps Engineer

Zoetis is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Zoetis India Capability Center (ZICC) in Hyderabad. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, security, and production operations.

You will work extensively with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps while collaborating with development, QA, infrastructure, network, identity and access management, and security teams. The role also provides exposure to SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP S/4HANA integrations, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL, infrastructure as code, and enterprise e-commerce platforms.

The position is suited for an experienced Azure DevOps professional who enjoys automation, cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting, reliability, security, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & DevOps Automation

- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.

- Automate build, testing, release, and deployment processes.

- Manage Azure DevOps services including Pipelines, Boards, Repos, and Artifacts.

- Improve development and release workflows through automation and DevOps best practices.

- Support continuous integration, continuous deployment, regression testing, and release management.

Azure Cloud Infrastructure

- Configure, manage, and optimize Microsoft Azure resources.

- Work with Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, App Services, Functions, Kubernetes, and other Azure services.

- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.

- Monitor Azure resource utilization, performance, availability, and cost efficiency.

- Support scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications.

Kubernetes & Containerization

- Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Work with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

- Support deployment, configuration, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Kubernetes workloads.

- Apply containerization and orchestration best practices across application environments.

Monitoring & Observability

- Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

- Develop and use Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries for monitoring and diagnostics.

- Configure proactive alerts for performance issues, security threats, and system failures.

- Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications to identify bottlenecks and availability issues.

- Work with monitoring and observability tools such as Kibana and Dynatrace.

- Analyze logs and error messages to diagnose and resolve production issues.

Security & Access Management

- Implement Azure security best practices for applications and infrastructure.

- Configure role-based access control (RBAC) and manage user permissions.

- Work with Azure Active Directory (AAD) permissions and access management.

- Configure secure communications using SSL/TLS.

- Manage encryption keys and security-related configurations.

- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, IDAM, and security teams to maintain secure environments.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

- Investigate and resolve DevOps pipeline, infrastructure, cloud application, and system outage issues.

- Troubleshoot performance degradation, deployment failures, application errors, and integration problems.

- Analyze logs and monitoring data to identify root causes.

- Provide technical support to development and QA teams.

- Participate in on-call support for critical incidents and production issues.

- Support application testing and release activities.

Database & Disaster Recovery

- Manage database backups and data protection processes.

- Implement point-in-time recovery strategies.

- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.

- Work with DBAs to optimize Azure SQL Database performance.

- Improve SQL database performance through indexing, query tuning, and DTU/CPU resource optimization.

- Support data availability and business continuity requirements.

SAP Commerce Cloud

- Install and configure SAP Commerce Cloud environments across cloud and on-premises environments.

- Support SAP Commerce Cloud platform operations and troubleshooting.

- Configure integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4HANA.

- Ensure reliable data flow between SAP Commerce Cloud and backend SAP systems.

- Troubleshoot APIs, middleware, and third-party application integrations.

- Support real-time SAP ERP integrations and asynchronous order management.

- Plan and execute SAP Commerce Cloud upgrades, releases, and patches.

- Work with Hybris Tomcat cluster environments, Apache web servers, and CDN technologies.

Scripting & Automation

- Write scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

- Automate server configuration, monitoring, deployment, and administrative tasks.

- Identify repetitive operational activities and implement automation solutions.

- Continuously improve infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Azure DevOps engineering.

- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure.

- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts.

- Experience with Azure services such as App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

- Good communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team environment.

- Knowledge of SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA integrations.

- Experience with real-time SAP ERP calls and asynchronous order management.

- Understanding of Hybris Tomcat cluster environments.

- Knowledge of Apache web server and CDN technologies.

- Experience working with enterprise e-commerce systems.

- Experience with performance monitoring and optimization.

- Familiarity with security and identity management practices.

Work Arrangement
