Role Details

Position: DevOps Engineer

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

A hands-on DevOps role where you will independently manage infrastructure, deployments, and system reliability across multiple projects and environments.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation

- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins)

- Automate build, test, and deployment workflows

- Ensure smooth code integration across environments

Server & Infrastructure Management

- Provision and manage VPS servers (Ubuntu/Linux)

- Deploy and manage Docker & Docker Compose environments

- Configure NGINX, SSL, domains, and reverse proxies

- Manage environment variables, secrets, and access controls

Monitoring & Reliability

- Implement monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Uptime Kuma

- Set up alerts for downtime, CPU, memory, and disk usage

- Ensure high availability and uptime

Security & Maintenance

- Apply OS patches and updates

- Configure firewalls, fail2ban, SSH security

- Maintain backups and disaster recovery processes

Troubleshooting

- Debug deployment failures and server issues

- Support developers with environment-related problems

- Maintain documentation and runbooks

Technical Skills Required

Systems

- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix (Ubuntu preferred)

Containers

- Hands-on experience with Docker & Docker Compose

DevOps Tools

- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

Cloud & Infrastructure

- Basic knowledge of AWS / GCP / DigitalOcean / VPS setups

Web & Networking

- Experience with NGINX, SSL (Let’s Encrypt), reverse proxy

Version Control & Scripting

- Proficiency in Git workflows (branching, tagging)

- Scripting using Bash (cron jobs, automation)

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to Kubernetes

- Knowledge of Terraform / Ansible (IaC)

- Experience with monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)

- Cloud cost optimization

- Familiarity with Python or Node.js

- 1–2 years of experience in DevOps / Cloud / Infrastructure roles

- Ability to independently manage deployments and systems

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
