They are now hiring a DevOps Intern to work on mission-critical cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps pipelines, offering hands-on exposure to real-world aerospace systems.

Role Details

Position: DevOps Intern

Location: Irvine, California (On-site)

Duration: 8–12 Weeks (Summer Internship)

Work Type: Full-Time Internship

Stipend / Salary

- Freshman/Sophomore: $25/hour

- Junior: $27.50/hour

- Senior/Graduate: $30/hour

Key Responsibilities

- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild)

- Develop Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)

- Integrate DevSecOps tools (SAST, DAST, container & dependency scanning)

- Automate security compliance checks (ASD STIG) in pipelines

- Work with Docker & Kubernetes (EKS) for containerized workloads

- Write automation scripts using Python / Bash

- Configure monitoring dashboards using CloudWatch, Prometheus

- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and demo presentations

- Collaborate with senior engineers through code reviews & pair programming

Technical Skills Required

Cloud & DevOps

- Basic understanding of AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC)

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

- Hands-on or academic exposure to Docker & Kubernetes

Infrastructure & Automation

- Familiarity with Terraform / CloudFormation (IaC)

- Scripting knowledge (Python / Bash / Go / JavaScript)

- Experience with Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket)

Security & Monitoring

- Understanding of DevSecOps practices

- Exposure to tools like SonarQube, OWASP ZAP, Trivy, Snyk

- Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus)

Eligibility Criteria

- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science / IT / Cybersecurity / Engineering

- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems

- Must be able to work on-site in Irvine, CA

- U.S. Citizenship required (security clearance eligibility)

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with AWS / Azure / GCP

- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and application security

- Personal projects in automation, cloud, or DevOps

- GitHub portfolio with real-world implementations
