Role Overview – Software Engineer (Freshers)

As a Software Engineer at Teradata, you will participate in the design, development, testing, and support of software components, focusing on RDBMS, cloud analytics, AI-driven solutions, and performance optimization.

You will gain exposure to medium to large-scale software projects, collaborate with team members, project managers, and global engineering teams, and contribute to enhancing Teradata’s RDBMS product.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, test, and support software components based on standard development processes

- Gain deep product knowledge via reverse engineering and enhancement projects

- Work on algorithmic solutions and design specifications considering complexity and performance

- Collaborate with teams across product support, engineering, and customer support

- Ensure high-quality deliverables in a mission-critical 24x7 environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong experience in C programming and Data Structures

- Good knowledge of RDBMS and SQL

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

- Ability to work independently and in team-oriented environments

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work in 24x7 mission-critical scenarios

Desired Skills (Advantageous)

- Knowledge of UNIX/Windows operating systems internals

- Familiarity with database engine design and complex parallel software

- Python scripting experience

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker deployment technologies

- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
