Job Summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join its central engineering team. The role involves supporting the bank’s cloud infrastructure, enabling secure, compliant, and scalable operations across global business units. - Understand and implement the bank’s DevOps strategy

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management

- Support deployment processes aligned with global standards

Business

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, compliant DevOps infrastructure in AWS and Azure

---

Processes

- Implement solutions in line with software delivery, security, and compliance frameworks

- Contribute to improvement of the bank's CI/CD ecosystem

---

People & Talent

- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

- Produce technical documentation & training material

- Conduct onboarding sessions for development teams

- Provide technical support to delivery teams

---

Risk Management

- Apply the bank’s risk and governance frameworks within DevOps practices

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and security requirements

---

Key Responsibilities

- Support governance processes related to software delivery and quality assurance

- Demonstrate strong ethical and regulatory compliance

- Escalate, mitigate, and resolve compliance or technical risks

- Engage effectively with key stakeholders, including Azure DevOps Engineering and Operations teams

Other Responsibilities

- Monitor systems, troubleshoot failures, and ensure high availability

- Enable disaster recovery strategies

- Stay updated with emerging DevOps tools, cloud trends, and best practices

---

Skills and Experience

- DevOps, SecOps, CI/CD pipelines

- Git / source control

- Proficient in programming (Java, Node.js, Python)

- Ansible, Puppet, or Helm

- Unix, Bash, PowerShell

- Containers & Kubernetes

- Monitoring & observability tools

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent

- Experience as an Infrastructure or Cloud Engineer (AWS or Azure)

- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

- Skilled in automation (Python, Shell, etc.)

- Experience with containerization and orchestration

- Problem-solving mindset with ability to work in fast-paced teams
