Sirma Business Consulting India Private Limited is looking for a motivated IT Infrastructure Engineer Intern to join its IT Infrastructure and Technology team in Bangalore Brookfield.
This full-time internship is designed for freshers, recent graduates, and aspiring IT professionals who want hands-on experience across IT infrastructure, Linux administration, Windows administration, networking, virtualization, cybersecurity, system monitoring, databases, application platforms, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure.
The role combines traditional infrastructure engineering with basic Frontend, Backend, Full-Stack, API, and database knowledge, making it suitable for candidates interested in modern infrastructure and application environments.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
- Assist with deploying, configuring, and maintaining physical servers.
- Support physical server and virtual machine environments.
- Assist with servers deployed at client locations.
- Support virtualization and VM lifecycle management.
- Assist with VM creation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and decommissioning.
- Assist with IP allocation and network configuration.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and configuration records.
- Monitor infrastructure capacity and resource utilization.
Server Administration
- Assist with Linux, Windows, and macOS administration.
- Gain exposure to Dell and HP physical servers.
- Monitor server health, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot CPU, memory, storage, and performance issues.
- Support database servers and application platforms.
- Assist with patching, software updates, and routine maintenance.
Desktop & End-User Support
- Provide first-level support for laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, drivers, and connectivity issues.
- Install and configure operating systems and applications.
- Prepare and configure systems for new employees.
- Support employee onboarding and IT setup.
- Maintain IT equipment records.
Operating System Administration
Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of:
- Windows
- Ubuntu/Linux
- macOS
Key activities include OS configuration, software installation, driver troubleshooting, patching, boot troubleshooting, performance optimization, application compatibility, and basic system security.
Network Infrastructure
- Assist with configuring and troubleshooting network switches.
- Support routers and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Work with IP addressing and network configuration.
- Understand basic VLAN and network segmentation concepts.
- Assist with firewall configuration and monitoring.
- Review firewall logs and identify unusual traffic.
- Support VPN configuration and secure remote connectivity.
- Assist with firewall rule reviews.
- Troubleshoot network latency and connectivity issues.
Endpoint Security
- Assist with Seqrite Antivirus and Endpoint Security management.
- Monitor endpoint security status and malware alerts.
- Support security incident and quarantine activities.
- Assist with endpoint security agent installation and troubleshooting.
- Ensure endpoint definitions and security policies remain updated.
- Maintain endpoint security documentation.
Infrastructure Monitoring
Gain practical exposure to:
- Zabbix
- Grafana
- SigNoz
- Uptime Monitoring
Responsibilities include monitoring server and VM availability, CPU, memory, storage, applications, services, alerts, logs, and infrastructure dashboards.
Backup & Recovery
- Monitor scheduled backups.
- Verify successful backup completion.
- Identify and report backup failures.
- Assist with database and server backups.
- Perform basic backup validation.
- Support restoration testing.
- Maintain backup documentation.
- Gain exposure to disaster recovery concepts.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain hardware and software inventories.
- Track laptops, desktops, servers, monitors, printers, and networking equipment.
- Maintain asset allocation and lifecycle records.
- Assist with procurement activities.
- Support equipment handover and return processes.
Frontend Development Knowledge – Mandatory
Candidates must have basic knowledge of Frontend Development.
