We are seeking a Junior Linux System Administrator to support NYS ITS infrastructure, focusing on SUSE Linux and Unisys Forward/ES3000 systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage backups of all NYS Linux systems supporting NYC HRA WMS users.

- Write and maintain shell scripts for system administration tasks.

- Monitor system performance, manage swap space, and schedule CRON jobs.

- Provide load balancing functions across Linux servers and manage user migrations.

- Install and patch SUSE Linux software on Unisys Forward/ES3000 environments.

- Troubleshoot issues related to servers, base/host files, printers, and terminals.

- Support application updates across 500+ logical partitions.

Minimum Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator (preferably SUSE Linux).

- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, PHP, etc.).

- Knowledge of Linux backup solutions.

- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
