₹3.5 LPA – ₹6 LPA (Estimated for Electrical / Automation Trainee roles)

JOB OVERVIEW:

OPTEL is hiring Electrical Trainees to support automation and electrical design projects from concept to production and customer-site installation. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career engineers interested in industrial automation, electrical schematics, control systems, and multidisciplinary project execution.

You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, automation, and solution design teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – ELECTRICAL TRAINEE:

- Support project teams from concept design through production and customer-site installation

- Create and verify electrical schematics using tools such as Eplan, Elcad, or SeeElectrical

- Ensure designs comply with safety standards such as CE, CSA, UL, and CCC

- Supervise construction and testing of product prototypes and packaging line assemblies

- Analyze methods and suppliers to identify cost-reduction opportunities

- Estimate costs for designed products and assemblies

- Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)

- Develop I/O lists, cable schedules, and electrical documentation

- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components and sensors

- Work with programmers to define I/O requirements and communication protocols

- Provide technical support to panel shop technicians and electricians

- Assist with troubleshooting and debugging electrical systems

- Update drawings to as-built status after project completion

- Continuously improve product quality and process efficiency

SECONDARY ROLE – SOLUTION DESIGN SUPPORT:

- Assist in designing vision, electrical, software, and automation-based solutions

- Understand and document customer requirements from concept stage

- Generate GMP-compliant documentation such as URS and FDS

- Work with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, R&D, and Project Management

- Support sales and solution teams in project proposal definitions

- Assist in conceptualizing and developing new solutions

- Evaluate product design feasibility against customer and project requirements

- Act as a technical subject matter contributor for new and existing customers

- Support all phases of technical project delivery and scope validation

- Identify solution risks by coordinating with internal SMEs and product teams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering

- 0–1 year of experience in a similar role or automation systems design

- Strong understanding of industrial control components such as PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, servo systems, and sensors

- Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices

- Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Good communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED / BONUS SKILLS:

- PLC programming experience (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens)

- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP
