Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Software QA Engineer to join our optical network simulation and planning tools team. This role is critical in validating next-gen optical transport technologies, ensuring our network planning software meets industry performance, reliability, and usability standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Test and validate optical network planning tools for DWDM, OTN, ROADM, and GMPLS.

- Develop and execute test plans, cases, and automation scripts based on system requirements.

- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

- Simulate real-world network configurations for planning tool validation.

- Log defects and track issues using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.

- Work with developers and network engineers to troubleshoot and optimize tool behavior.

- Contribute to QA process improvement and documentation best practices.

- Provide UI/UX feedback for usability enhancements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

- 0–2 years of experience in telecom/optical network testing or software QA.

- Knowledge of optical transport systems: DWDM, SDH/SONET, OTN, Ethernet, ROADM.

- Experience with network simulation or design tools.

- Familiarity with Layer 0/1/2 networking and traffic engineering.

- Exposure to bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla).

- Basic skills in Python, Selenium, or REST API automation (preferred).

- Strong analytical and debugging skills.

- Experience with network inventory and provisioning tools.

- Understanding of standards from ITU-T, MEF, and IEEE.

- Knowledge of network KPIs and performance metrics.

- Exposure to Agile/DevOps workflows.
