Role Overview

The Software Engineer Intern role at Nirmata offers hands-on experience in building and operating modern microservices for a large-scale SaaS cloud platform. Interns will work on real production features using cloud-native architecture, containers, and Kubernetes, gaining exposure to cutting-edge DevOps and platform engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based applications

- Write clean, maintainable code using Go and Java

- Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and performance optimization

- Improve system reliability, observability, and automation

- Work with Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, TimeScale, Kafka, and Kyverno

- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

- Contribute to open-source projects, internal tools, or engineering blogs

- Own small features or projects and present results to the engineering team

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

- Good knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms

- Ability to explain an academic or personal project

- Good communication and collaboration skills

- Knowledge of Kubernetes is a strong plus

- B.Tech / B.E in Computer Science or equivalent
