Role Overview

As an Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, and automation of systems that power Morningstar Direct. This role requires a proactive mindset to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of services.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor, maintain, and support product systems and data services

- Troubleshoot technical issues and drive resolutions to completion

- Develop tools, alerting, and reporting for performance and reliability

- Define application hardening and implement chaos engineering practices

- Work with business partners to establish SLIs and SLOs

- Improve alerting strategies for accuracy and actionability

- Support deployment and release processes with cross-functional teams

- Participate in an on-call rotation for production support

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT or related field

- 1–2 years of relevant experience

- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, system hosting, and cloud platforms

- Familiarity with Git, CodeCommit, or similar version control tools

- Experience with build/release tools such as Jenkins, CodeBuild, or CodePipeline

- Basic understanding of monitoring tools and strategies

Bonus Qualifications

- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

- Programming skills in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, or PowerShell

- System administration experience (Windows preferred)

- Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
