Infrastructure Operations Engineer | Linux | OCI | AWS | Kubernetes | Terraform | Ansible | DevOps | Cloud Engineer

MCO is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join its Production Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise production infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.

Working closely with Infrastructure, TechOps, Platform Monitoring, DBA, SRE, and Engineering teams, you'll help maintain highly available cloud platforms, improve infrastructure automation, strengthen security, and support enterprise DevOps initiatives within a 24×5 production support model.

Job Overview

As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will administer Linux production environments, manage cloud infrastructure, automate operational workflows, support Kubernetes platforms, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and ensure production systems remain secure, resilient, and highly available.

You'll play a key role in infrastructure operations, incident management, cloud administration, disaster recovery planning, platform monitoring, security hardening, and continuous infrastructure optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Infrastructure Administration

- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux production servers.

- Perform operating system patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.

- Manage Linux services, packages, processes, filesystems, permissions, and system performance.

- Configure SELinux, SSH, system security, and access controls.

- Perform storage administration including LVM, filesystem expansion, partition management, and storage migrations.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

- Administer Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.

- Manage cloud compute, networking, IAM, DNS, certificates, storage, monitoring, and tagging.

- Support AWS infrastructure where required.

- Contribute to infrastructure capacity planning, resilience, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

Infrastructure Automation & DevOps

- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.

- Develop automation scripts using Bash.

- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows.

- Reduce configuration drift through automation and standardized deployments.

Kubernetes & Container Operations

- Support Kubernetes clusters and production workloads.

- Troubleshoot containers, services, storage, networking, and cluster issues.

- Assist with container lifecycle management and deployment automation.

Monitoring & Reliability

- Maintain infrastructure monitoring, dashboards, alerts, metrics, and logging.

- Respond to production incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).

- Participate in incident management, service restoration, and preventive maintenance.

- Create operational runbooks and technical documentation.

Security & Compliance

- Implement security hardening and vulnerability remediation.

- Support privileged access management and least-privilege access models.

- Apply CIS security standards and infrastructure compliance controls.

- Support audit and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Strong Linux Systems Administration experience in enterprise production environments.

- Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure.

- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms.

- Strong understanding of Linux security practices.

- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized workloads.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
