Job Purpose

IDFC FIRST Bank is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of its digital banking platforms. This role focuses on both automation and manual testing across web, mobile, API, and database systems, supporting scalable and secure enterprise applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design

- Create detailed test plans aligned with business and technical requirements

- Design and document test cases for web applications, mobile apps, APIs, and databases

- Collaborate with development teams to understand system functionality and workflows

Automation Testing

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium and Appium

- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results

- Identify areas suitable for automation to improve test efficiency and coverage

Manual Testing

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing

- Log, track, and document defects with clear reproduction steps

- Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and hidden issues

Web, Mobile & API Testing

- Execute end-to-end testing for web and mobile banking applications

- Validate API functionality, data flow, and integration points

- Ensure compatibility across browsers and mobile devices

CI/CD & Continuous Testing

- Design, implement, and maintain CI pipelines for automated testing

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows for early defect detection

- Continuously improve CI processes for stability and efficiency

Database Testing

- Write and execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity

- Verify data migrations and transformations

- Identify performance issues related to database interactions

Collaboration & Agile Practices

- Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and reviews

- Provide quality-related inputs throughout the development lifecycle

Documentation

- Maintain structured documentation for test cases, results, and defects

- Update QA documentation as applications evolve

Educational Qualifications

Full-time education in one of the following disciplines:

- B.Tech / M.Tech

- B.Sc / M.Sc

- BCA / MCA

(Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields preferred)

- Automation testing using Selenium / Appium

- Manual testing fundamentals

- API testing concepts

- CI/CD pipeline integration

- SQL and database testing

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
