This opportunity is within the MIM Software DevSecOps team, which manages the software development lifecycle (SDLC) infrastructure used to build and deliver enterprise healthcare software products.

Role Details

Position: DevOps Engineer Intern

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Type: Internship / Co-op

Relocation: Provided

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA (No visa sponsorship)

Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will work on automation, infrastructure management, and DevSecOps practices, gaining hands-on experience with modern cloud-native tools and CI/CD systems.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and receive mentorship while working on real production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Infrastructure

- Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for system automation

- Refactor and improve existing infrastructure code

- Assist in building cloud-native infrastructure systems

CI/CD & DevOps

- Use GitLab CI to test infrastructure code

- Write and maintain automation tests for DevOps workflows

- Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

- Monitor infrastructure using Datadog

- Troubleshoot system and infrastructure issues

- Assist in routine system maintenance tasks

Documentation & Collaboration

- Write system administration documentation and SOPs

- Work closely with DevSecOps engineers and mentors

- Learn and apply DevOps principles in real-world environments

Technical Skills Required

Core Skills

- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems

- Basic programming or scripting experience

- Understanding of infrastructure automation concepts

DevOps & Tools Exposure

- Familiarity with Ansible / OpenTofu / Infrastructure as Code

- Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitLab CI preferred)

- Basic understanding of cloud-native systems and automation

Soft Skills

- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

- Good communication and organizational skills

- Ability to work in team environments

- Eagerness to learn DevOps and cloud technologies

Eligibility

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered
