Job Overview – Associate Cloud Support Engineer

As an Associate Cloud Support Engineer at DigitalOcean, you will play a key role in supporting and scaling AI/ML infrastructure for high-value global customers. You’ll be the first technical point of escalation and a subject matter expert in cloud operations, supporting customers building next-generation solutions on DigitalOcean’s GPU cloud.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop deep expertise in DigitalOcean & Paperspace product portfolio, focusing on AI/ML cloud infrastructure.

- Provide technical consultation to high-value customers across the USA, UK, and global regions.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to resolve escalations efficiently.

- Design and plan infrastructure architecture for enterprise use cases.

- Build and deploy end-to-end AI/ML solutions using cloud-based GPU environments.

- Conduct client demonstrations to showcase DigitalOcean’s cloud capabilities.

- Contribute to technical documentation, internal knowledge bases, and customer support resources.

- Provide training sessions and enablement to internal teams and partners.

- Act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams to communicate feedback and product improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and networking.

- In-depth knowledge of Bare Metal & Virtualized Environments.

- Proficiency in Linux tools: `ssh`, `scp`, `journalctl`, `nvidia-smi`, `df`, `systemctl`, etc.

- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and networking fundamentals.

- Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or HuggingFace.

- Familiarity with distributed training techniques like DDP, TensorFlow Distributed.

- Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go).

- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud automation tools.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Experience with automation tools – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Saltstack.

- Knowledge of databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL).

- Familiarity with open-source technologies – CoreOS, Kubernetes, Vagrant.
