About the Role

Coolboots is hiring passionate and motivated Fresher DevOps Engineers to support on-premises infrastructure operations. This role is ideal for candidates who want to build skills in automation, server management, CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, and data-center operations.

You will collaborate with system administrators and developers to streamline processes between software development and IT operations, ensuring efficient and reliable on-prem workloads.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining on-premise servers, storage, and network infrastructure

- Support and automate build, deployment, and release pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Ansible

- Monitor and manage Linux and Windows servers ensuring optimal performance

- Manage Git repositories, branching, merging, and release workflows

- Create automation scripts using Shell, Bash, Python, or Ansible

- Collaborate with developers for application deployment across environments (test/staging/production)

- Assist in system monitoring, log analysis, and performance tuning using Nagios, Zabbix, or ELK Stack

- Participate in backup, recovery, and security management of systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields

- Strong understanding of Linux / Unix administration and basic Windows server concepts

- Familiarity with networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing

- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Ansible

- Scripting knowledge: Shell / Bash / Python

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities

- Passion for automation and improving infrastructure efficiency

Good to Have

- Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)

- Understanding of configuration management or infrastructure provisioning

- Basic database knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

- Awareness of system hardening and patch management

- Internship or academic project in DevOps or system administration
