A Day in the Life
- Collaborate with OPS personnel
- Review code and automation for cloud-based applications and microservices
- Work with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality software delivery
- Participate in daily standups and conduct code reviews
- Maintain documentation for new and existing systems
- Enhance systems based on user feedback
- Optimize performance and scalability across cloud environments
- Handle additional projects and responsibilities
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- On-call operational responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
- Hands-on experience automating cloud deployments using CloudFormation, CodeDeploy, etc.
- Strong understanding of AWS services: SSM, EC2, EBS, Auto-scaling, SQS, SNS, Lambda/Step Functions
- Proficiency in PowerShell (primary), Python, Java, or Bash
- Experience with Agile development practices
- Ability to develop and consume REST APIs
- Strong communication skills
- High proficiency with Git and source control
- Ability to handle urgent issues across different time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating/debugging CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins
- Experience with AWS DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Experience with streaming architectures (Apache Kafka)
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Hadoop, or data analytics tools
- AWS Associate Certifications (Developer, Architect, SysOps)
- Experience building highly available, elastic AWS cloud applications
- Experience with containerization and microservices
- Familiarity with CloudWatch, QuickSight
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience
