Role Overview – Software Engineer (Freshers)

As a Software Engineer at Teradata, you will participate in the design, development, testing, and support of software components, focusing on RDBMS, cloud analytics, AI-driven solutions, and performance optimization.

You will gain exposure to medium to large-scale software projects, collaborate with team members, project managers, and global engineering teams, and contribute to enhancing Teradata’s RDBMS product.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and support software components based on standard development processes
Gain deep product knowledge via reverse engineering and enhancement projects
Work on algorithmic solutions and design specifications considering complexity and performance
Collaborate with teams across product support, engineering, and customer support
Ensure high-quality deliverables in a mission-critical 24x7 environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in C programming and Data Structures
Good knowledge of RDBMS and SQL
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and in team-oriented environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in 24x7 mission-critical scenarios

Desired Skills (Advantageous)

Knowledge of UNIX/Windows operating systems internals
Familiarity with database engine design and complex parallel software
Python scripting experience
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker deployment technologies
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
