About the Role
Leidos, a leader in defense, intelligence, and digital modernization, is hiring a Network Operations Intern to support the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at MacDill AFB, FL.
As part of the Digital Modernization Group, you’ll help sustain, secure, and modernize the Defense Information System Network (DISN) for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
This internship is ideal for students interested in network engineering, operations, and unified communications in high-impact environments.

What You’ll Do
- Analyze network designs and performance for operational efficiency.
- Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs.
- Provide technical support across the network engineering lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network design issues.
- Create documentation and collect metrics for government reporting.
- Administer servers and applications, ensuring reliability and security.
- Support customer provisioning and onboarding.
- Assist with legacy system phase-outs and adoption of modern technologies.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Strong understanding of IT principles, programming, and networking (OSI model, Python, Ansible, SQL, Linux, Bash, HTML/XML, VBA, SED/AWK, Yang).
- Ability to analyze data and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to earn Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II) certification.
- Eligible for Secret clearance (must be a U.S. Citizen).
- On-site requirement at MacDill AFB, FL (reliable transportation required).

Compensation & Benefits
