Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design and develop scalable products.
• Build distributed systems, storage solutions, and high-performance computing environments.
• Develop AI/ML-driven predictive models and work with large-scale data.
• Write clean, efficient, and optimized code in Java, Python, C++, or Perl.
• Deliver high-quality software in an Agile development environment.
• Solve complex technical challenges with an emphasis on scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end product development lifecycle.
• Work on distributed computing and cloud-native systems (AWS, EC2, Lambda, etc.).
• Create scalable, low-cost, and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Optimize algorithms, database queries, and performance at scale.
• Contribute to new features, services, and products for global users.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Programming experience in C/C++, Java, Python, or Perl
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to handle ambiguity
• Familiarity with relational databases and distributed systems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Previous technical internship(s) in software development
• Experience in optimization mathematics (linear and nonlinear programming)
• Exposure to multi-tier systems and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
