About the Role

As a Cloud Operations Intern, you will work under the guidance of the EIT/Digital Infrastructure team to gain hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, and GCP public cloud operations. This internship is designed to help you build cloud engineering skills while supporting real-world infrastructure initiatives.

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least 2 days per week in the Knoxville office, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Systems Administrators, Developers, and Security Engineers
Design and build controls to manage and restrict AWS cloud services
Contribute to automation tools and scripting for efficient operations
Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot performance issues, and provide technical support
Document processes, solutions, and best practices clearly and effectively
Assist in cleanup of unused cloud resources, IAM identities, and roles

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Strong interest in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Basic knowledge of automation/scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.) preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and work independently

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule (minimum 2 office days/week)
Professional office setting with modern infrastructure
Requires ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for prolonged periods
