We are seeking a Junior Linux System Administrator to support NYS ITS infrastructure, focusing on SUSE Linux and Unisys Forward/ES3000 systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage backups of all NYS Linux systems supporting NYC HRA WMS users.
• Write and maintain shell scripts for system administration tasks.
• Monitor system performance, manage swap space, and schedule CRON jobs.
• Provide load balancing functions across Linux servers and manage user migrations.
• Install and patch SUSE Linux software on Unisys Forward/ES3000 environments.
• Troubleshoot issues related to servers, base/host files, printers, and terminals.
• Support application updates across 500+ logical partitions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator (preferably SUSE Linux).
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, PHP, etc.).
• Knowledge of Linux backup solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
