Role Overview

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer (Vocera, now part of Stryker) to join our growing DevOps team. In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure).
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable deployments.
• Automate operations, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Support multi-region growth and high availability environments.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimize system performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure minimal downtime.

This role requires an automation-first mindset, operational excellence, and passion for cloud-native DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and administer AWS production environments.
• Develop automation scripts for deployments and configurations.
• Perform Canary / Blue-Green deployments with minimal downtime.
• Monitor, debug, and upgrade infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, databases, web servers).
• Harden and secure production systems; manage access and compliance.
• Support Engineering with Dev/QA environment upgrades.
• Manage customer provisioning and issue-tracking workflows.
• Build and maintain DevOps tools for deployment, monitoring, patching, and auditing.

• Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Support, and Product teams.
• Hands-on with configuration management tools and automation practices.
• Resourceful and able to adapt technologies to solve complex problems.
• Passionate about DevOps with a solid Linux background.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of DevOps experience (at least 2 years preferred).
• Hands-on with AWS (EC2, S3, Route53, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CodePipeline, etc.).
• Familiarity with Azure services (a plus).

Preferred Skills (Strong Plus)

• Docker & Kubernetes (AWS EKS / Kops).
• Microservices deployment automation with Helm.
• CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Ansible / Terraform / Python for automation.
• Monitoring & observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
• Networking (pfSense, Palo Alto firewalls).
• Database knowledge (MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL Server).
• On-call production support experience.
