Role Overview – Software Engineer
Visa’s Payment Digitization Platform is seeking a talented Software Engineer to strengthen our engineering team. You will:
- Work on mission-critical financial applications.
- Develop and maintain Java/Java EE applications.
- Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle: concept, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with business owners, solution architects, and engineers to design and implement high-performance payment systems.
This position requires strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in Agile Scrum teams delivering production-ready code.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Design: Collaborate on solution designs based on business requirements and use cases.
- Proof of Concept: Execute technical evaluations, prototypes, and POCs for new features.
- Software Development: Build, test, and deploy secure and scalable Java applications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with solution analysts, QA teams, and architects to ensure delivery of business goals.
- Optimization: Improve system performance, reliability, and security of payment platforms.
- Best Practices: Follow Visa’s engineering guidelines, coding standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Communication: Clearly present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical teams.
Education & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Freshers and Early Career Engineers (0–2 years experience) are eligible.
Technical Skills Required
- Programming Languages: Java, Java EE, Spring Framework.
- Software Development Principles: Object-Oriented Design, SOLID Principles, Design Patterns.
- Testing & Debugging: Knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).
- Databases & Integration: Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and integration frameworks.
- Agile Practices: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing and distributed systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good understanding of secure coding practices and compliance standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to global teams across multiple time zones.
