Systems & Development Analyst 1 – Reno, NV (Entry-Level IT Career Opportunity)

About the Role

NV Energy is seeking a motivated and passionate Systems & Development Analyst 1 to join our growing technology team in Reno, NV. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Computer Science or IT who are eager to launch their careers in enterprise systems, cloud technologies, and Oracle Middleware development.

This full-time, in-office role offers mentorship, hands-on training, and exposure to cutting-edge Oracle Cloud technologies that power critical enterprise operations. Applicants must either reside in the Reno, NV area or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Middleware tools.

Monitor system health, security, and performance optimization.

Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues under guidance from senior engineers.

Support application integrations using DevOps tools and automation scripts.

Contribute to automation initiatives using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.

Participate in on-call rotation (with training and mentorship) to ensure 24x7 system reliability.

Document system processes, workflows, and configurations.

Engage in cloud technology projects and application integration initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Strong foundation in Linux-based environments and command-line tools.

Familiarity with:

Bash/Python scripting

Writing basic SQL queries

REST APIs, JSON/XML

Git version control

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Strong teamwork and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Willingness to relocate to Reno, NV and work in-office full-time.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

Exposure to Oracle Cloud, SOA Suite, or Oracle Integration tools.

Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and YAML scripting.

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Relevant certifications in Oracle or cloud platforms.
