Role Summary
As a Cloud Support Engineer for the GPU and AI/ML product line, you will support and scale the success of DigitalOcean’s high-value customers. You’ll act as a technical expert, support customer escalations, consult on AI/ML implementations, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and success teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in DigitalOcean & Paperspace GPU/AI/ML offerings
- Handle advanced technical escalations from the support team
- Guide customers through onboarding and platform adoption
- Collaborate with internal teams to build and deploy AI/ML solutions
- Design infrastructure architecture for client workloads
- Provide internal and customer-facing documentation and training
- Engage in direct technical consultations and product demos
- Work on professional services contracts to deliver AI/ML projects
- Support cross-functional teams and contribute to technical knowledge base
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical
- Strong troubleshooting experience with cloud and distributed systems
- Deep Linux expertise (e.g., ssh, systemctl, journalctl, nvidia-smi)
- GPU configuration and driver installation (Nvidia, AMD)
- Familiarity with ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, DDP, etc.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker
- Understanding of networking: TCP/IP, routing, switching
- Ability to deploy and manage AI/ML models from start to finish
- Programming in Python; Bash, Go, or Ruby is a plus
Professional
- 3+ years experience in cloud infrastructure or support engineering
- Background in technical support, customer success, or presales
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and technical consulting
- Adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated team player
- Willing to relocate to Hyderabad and work in a hybrid setup
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or DigitalOcean
- Familiarity with automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Experience with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Use of Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Prior work with large-scale AI/ML systems including LLMs or generative AI
