About the Role
As a Software Engineer at bp, you will join a cross-functional team of experts in engineering, AI/ML, product management, and delivery. You will help build, maintain, and improve business-critical applications for bp’s Production & Operations division.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure technology features
Ensure availability and reliability of software services
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with platform and service teams
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth
Document software designs and operational procedures

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:

B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

Experience:

Freshers eligible (recent graduates)

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Proficient in at least one of: C#, Python, TypeScript
Strong in secure, testable, and maintainable coding practices
Understanding of full SDLC: version control, CI/CD, code reviews, deployments, and operations
Experience with Microsoft Azure: identity platforms, networking, databases, containers, serverless
Familiarity with distributed systems and application scaling

Database Knowledge

Relational, document, graph, and key-value databases
Data modeling and SQL

Infrastructure Skills

Azure services, monitoring, and cloud-native infrastructure design

Soft Skills

Strong communication (written and verbal)
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Adaptable and self-driven
Team player with leadership potential
Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty

Preferred Skills (Bonus but Not Mandatory)

Passion for mentoring and coaching
Familiarity with privacy/security best practices
Experience in supporting production systems, on-call rotations
